Golf courses[Royal
Hua Hin] [Palm Hills ] [Lake
View Princess]
[Hua Hin Seoul] [ Springfield Royal] [Majestic Creek] Royal Hua Hin Golf Club
Founded during the reign of H.R.H. King
Rama VI in 1924. The Royal Hua Hun Golf Course was commissioned by H.R.H.
Prince Kampaengpetch, and designed by a Scottish railway engineer, Mr.
A. O. Robins.
This is a par 72, 18-hole course. The fairways-Zoysia, and the greens-Zoysia. This golf course is less than 1 kilometers from down town Hua Hin. The fairways are bordered by mature trees, which provide for some shady lies after a "wayward" shot. Natural hazards include raiding monkey troops from the jungle, who are noted for their ball stealing antics. Other than on the first and second holes, there is no other real water hazards. The course yardage from the blue tees is 6713 yards and from the white tees it is 6678 yards. - Up - Palm Hills Golf Resort and Country Club
The course opened in December 1991, and
is distinct in the way that it is considered the first of the "new"
championship golf courses. The beautiful Palm Hills Golf and Country Club
was designed by the talented "Max Wexler". In 1993 it was the
principal venue for the inaugural THAILAND WORLD PRO AM golf tournament.
Praise was copious, both from the competitors and the British PGA
This is a par 72, 18-hole course. The fairways-Bermuda 419, and the greens-Tiff Torf. The course is one of the areas most beautiful, and has been remarkably well designed. The owners have gone to extreme lengths to preserve the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. The fairways are generous, and lead to receptive green. Hazards, in the form of water, come into play on 12 of the 18 holes. Usually it does not require a great drive to overcome the obstacle. The gentle terrain of the course is the rule. There are 2 distinct parts of this course. The out and in 9-hole are separated by both the Clubhouse and an outcropping from the nearby mountains. The course yardage from the blue tees is 6915 yards, and from the white tees is 6139 yards. - Up -
Lake View Princess Resort and Golf Club
This is a par 72, 27-hole course. The fairways "Bermuda 419", and the greens "Tiff Torf". The course is set in the escarpments and foothills of the mountain range, which divides Thailand from Burma. The site was originally a pineapple plantation; consequently, most of the natural vegetation had been cleared away. This necessitated the transplantation of thousands of mature palms and other indigenous trees to transform the landscape into a mature vista of foliage and color. This is a course that will make the adrenaline flow. Dog legs, a few water hazards, and exceptionally well guarded Greens, provide a challenge for both the power hitter and the weekend enthusiast. The course yardage from the blue tees is 6915 yards, and from the white tees is 6195 yards. - Up - Hua Hin Seoul
Originally Hua Hin Seoul Golf Club
opened in 1987. This makes it the second oldest course in Hua-Hin. Robert
Macfarlane (the original designer), who is an American, has done excellent
job on this charming course. In 2003 Hua Hin Seoul undertook the management,
and now provides a professionally run service for intentional golfers.
This is a par 72, 18-hole course. The fairways "Bermuda 419", and the greens "Tiff Torf". Spectacular mountain and ocean views all add to an enjoyable experience of golf on this unique course. Hua Hin Seoul and Resort promises a golf course that provides a pleasant change from the other championship course which require length from the tee. The golf course is set in two valleys immediately adjacent to the beach and hotel. It leads scenically up into the mountains. The course yardage from the blue tees is 7114 yards and from the white tees is 5786 yards. - Up -
Springfield Royal and Country Club
The real championship golf course,
designed by a real championship golfer, Jack Nicklaus opened in 1993.
Despite the fact that it is a fairly new course, it exhibits a great deal
of maturity and charm, mostly because of successful design. The existing
18 holes, the "East Course" is part of a planned 36-hole complex.
The "West Course" is also being designed by Jack Nicklaus.
This is a par 72, 18-hole course. The fairways "Bermuda 419", and the greens "Tiff Torf". It lies some 5 Km. inland from the coast and although situated in relatively flat land it has a very scenic backdrop of low hills. Although the course itself is situated in "flat land" the Jack Nicklaus team have carefully contoured the land to provide mounds and depressions that affect the play on each hole. This is the course that needs accuracy and power well from the back markers. Yet even the weekend golfer will find a challenge from the front markers. Water hazards abound, and each hole has unique and demanding characteristics. The course yardage from the blue tees is 6695 yards and from the white tees is 6281 yards. - Up -
Majestic Creek Country Club
Opened in 1993. Local golf architect,
Dr. Sukiti designed this intriguing course.
This is a par 72, 27-hole course. The fairways "Zoysia", and the greens "Zoysia". This course nestles against the Thai/Burma mountain range. Natural water hazards abound on this course, due to it being crises-crossed by many mountain streams. Majestic is a beautiful course and it lies inland, and although the surrounding terrain is relatively hilly, the course is situated on a pleasing plateau. The "tempo" of this course is established from the first tee. Tempting dogleg offers a chance to beat par, but trouble is never far away on this tantalizingly designed course. The course yardage from the blue tees is 6961 yards and from the white tees is 6355 yards. - Up -
